Spools Of Copper Wiring Stolen From Construction Site In Downers Grove.

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — Police say eight heavy spools of copper wiring were stolen from a construction site in Downers Grove.

Officers were called to 844 Warren Ave. around 5 p.m. on Sept. 11 for a report of a building burglary. When police got to the scene, a project manager told them eight 20-pound spools of copper wire had been stolen from the basement of the building. Each spool is valued at approximately $925.

The project manager told police construction workers are usually in the building during the day and that it's likely the spools were stolen overnight during the weekend of Sept. 11.

The site is currently under construction for The Rec League, which is set to open later this year.
