1 Injured in Elgin Shooting
One person was taken to the hospital following a shooting in Elgin Wednesday night.
ELGIN, IL — One person has been hospitalized following a shooting in Elgin. The Elgin Police Department was called to the area of Spring and Franklin streets for the reported shooting at 8:54 p.m. Wednesday, according to a post on the Elgin Police Department Facebook page.
Preliminary information provided to police indicated the person shot was in the 200 block of Franklin Street when a disturbance occurred. Witnesses then heard the sound of gunshots, according to Elgin police.
The person shot suffered an injury that does not appear to be life-threatening and is being treated at an area hospital, according to authorities.

The Special Investigations Division is investigating the incident, police said.
