1 Injured In Shooting At Party in Elgin

The shooting occurred Saturday night on Villa Street in Elgin.

ELGIN, IL -- Elgin police are investigating a shooting that occurred during a party over the weekend. Authorities responded to the 100 block of Villa Street for the reported shooting at about 10:16 p.m. on Saturday, according to a post on the Elgin Police Department Facebook page. Officers arrived and found that a fight occurred during a party involving a large number of people.

A 36-year-old man was transported to an area hospital with gunshot wounds that do not appear to be life-threatening. This is believed to be an isolated incident and detectives from the Major Investigations Division are currently investigating the case, according to authorities.
