1 Killed In Elgin Crash

The 47-year-old driver was killed in the single-vehicle crash Thursday evening.

ELGIN, IL – A 47-year-old woman was killed in a crash Thursday evening in Elgin, police said. Authorities responded to the one-vehicle collision at McDonald and Corron roads at about 6:39 p.m. A preliminary investigation shows the crash occurred when a vehicle heading west on McDonald Road lost control and struck a utility pole, according to information posted on the Elgin Police Department Facebook page.

The 47-year-old driver was taken to Presence St. Joseph's Hospital where she was pronounced dead from injuries sustained in the crash, police said. Her identity is not immediately being released pending notification from relatives.
