South Elgin| The CDBL Rockets 11U Youth Baseball Travel Team held a fundraiser at the South Elgin McDonald's on Redington Road Tuesday, October 8th.
Coache Tom Wyse, several other coaches, team parents, and players volunteered to work at McDonald's during this event, in support of the Baseball Team. They worked behind the counter taking orders, preparing freshly cooked meals and handing out food and desserts to patrons, and working the drive-thru.
Coaches and Team Players sold pies and took turns dressed up in a pie box during the entire three-hour event. Proceeds from the 198 pies that were donated will go directly to the 11U Rockets as well as 20% of the team's three-hour sales from the event.
David Bear, Owner -Operator of the South Elgin McDonald's was excited to host the team, coaches, and all the volunteers. Bear said he always loves the positive energy these events bring to the restaurant. The McDonald’s staff enjoy partnering with the team as it gives them a chance to give back to the community, according to Bear.
“I’m proud to play a part in bringing the community together and supporting, The Travel Baseball Team,” David Bear said.
The event was made possible by the generosity of the Bear Family Restaurants, and Chicagoland McDonald’s Franchise Owner-Operator, David Bear and his amazing staff, who assisted with the event throughout the night. Like us on Facebook and visit our Bear Website.
