3 Sentenced To Prison In Elgin Kidnapping, Torture Case
Two more still face charges in the case. The defendants are accused of holding an 18-year-old woman against her will in Feb. 2016.

ELGIN, IL – Three Elgin residents accused of kidnapping a teen and holding her against her will in an Elgin home where they beat her and burnt her with a lit cigarette have pleaded guilty and have been sentenced to prison time, prosecutors said. Gino A. Moraca, 26, has been sentenced to four years in prison after pleading guilty to felony unlawful restraint and trespassing; Ruby M. Gomez, 22, was sentenced to 10 years in prison after pleading guilty to felony home invasion; and Kassandra Delgado, 22, will serve nine years in prison after entering a guilty plea to a charge of felony home invasion/causing injury, according to the Daily Herald.
Charges against two other defendants accused in the kidnapping and torture case, Luis Palomar, 20, of Lake in the Hills, and Megan A. Lino, 21, of Carpentersville, are still pending, the Daily Herald reports.
The charges were filed after an investigation into a Feb. 27 report of a female who was being held against her will in a home in the 300 block of Raymond Street in Elgin. When police arrived, they found an 18-year-old Belvidere woman with obvious signs of injury, according to police and media reports.

The teen told police she was at her home in the 500 block of Levine Court with her ex-boyfriend when four females entered the home and, with the help of her ex-boyfriend, forcibly removed her from the house. They are allegedly put her in a vehicle, beat her and then drove her to the Raymond Street home where the physical assaults continued, according to authorities.
The victim was held in the home against her will, police said. There, the teen was beaten and burned with cigarettes on her shoulders and back, according to the Daily Herald.
