5K To Raise Awareness For U-46's Deaf, Hard of Hearing Program

The third annual U-46 Deaf & Hard of Hearing 5K will be held on Saturday, May 5.

ELGIN, IL - From U-46: Spring is finally here, and if you’re looking for a reason to lace up your running or walking shoes, consider participating in the third annual U-46 Deaf & Hard of Hearing 5K on Saturday, May 5. This family-friendly event aims to build awareness, foster social interactions, create parent and student connections, fundraise for the District’s Deaf and Hard of Hearing program and promote a healthy lifestyle.

Day-of registration will get underway at 7 a.m., with the race starting at 9 a.m. at the Bartlett Nature Center, 2054 W. Stearns Road in Bartlett. The event is open to the public and features bathrooms on-site and a route that is stroller and wheelchair accessible. Pre-registration is encouraged; early-bird pricing before April 17 is $10 for children ages 3-17 and $25 for 18+. All pre-registered participants will receive a T-shirt and swag bag.
