ELGIN, IL — A 16-year-old girl was pulled from the Fox River more than a day after she was reported missing in Elgin, authorities said.
The girl was identified on Monday as Destiny Neal of Elgin, according to the Kane County Coroner’s Office.
Neal had been reported missing Friday night, police said. Her body was found just before 4 p.m. Sunday in the river, north of the Kimball Street Bridge, according to police.
An autopsy was performed on Monday, authorities said. The preliminary cause of death is pending toxicology analysis and the manner of death remains under investigation, according to the coroner’s office.
