Blaze Leaves Elgin Home Uninhabitable
No one was injured and damage to both the structure and contents is estimated to exceed $50,000.

ELGIN, IL – An Elgin home is uninhabitable following a fire early Tuesday. The Elgin Fire Department was called to the scene of the blaze in the 1200 block of Concord Drive by a passerby who noticed the fire from Route 20 just before 5 a.m., according to a news release from the fire department. Fire crews first at the scene found the back of the single-family home on fire.
There was no one inside the home at the time of the blaze, which was upgraded to a "working fire" and three additional fire units were called to the scene, according to the news release. The blaze damaged a deck, attic and rear rooms in the home.
No one was injured and damage to both the structure and contents is estimated to exceed $50,000. The home has been deemed uninhabitable.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Elgin Fire Department investigation team.
