Burglar Arrested Inside Elgin Business: Police

The 29-year-old Campton Hills man is being held on a $50,000 bail.

ELGIN, IL -- A 29-year-old Campton Hills man faces burglary charges for allegedly breaking into a business in Elgin early Thursday, police said. The Elgin Police Department was called to the business in the 1600 block of Fleetwood Drive at about 12:15 a.m. When they arrived, they found damaged doors and the burglar still inside, according to a Elgin Police Department Facebook post.

Jeffrey Zaworski, 29, with a last known address on Clydesdale Court in Campton Hills, was was arrested and charged with burglary, a class 2 felony; criminal damage to property, a class 4 felony; and criminal trespass to a building, a class B misdemeanor.

Zaworski appeared in Kane County bond court Thursday afternoon where his bond was set at $50,000.

“Due to a properly registered alarm by the business, our officers were able to quickly arrive on the scene and safely apprehend Mr. Zarowski,” Elgin Police Department Chief Ana Lalley said.
