“Brushstrokes of America” is the 2026 theme for the popular annual luncheon and Fashions by Chico’s presented by Fox Valley Beaux Arts. The fun begins on Saturday, September 12, 2026 at the Elgin Country Club, 2575 Weld Road in Elgin.
Doors open at 11a.m. with the event’s popular silent auction and raffles with a delicious lunch at 12 Noon. Guests will enjoy the unique on-trend fall and holiday styles during the fashion show provided by Chico’s located at The Arboretum of South Barrington. Ticket price for this annual fashionable event is $53.00 per person.
FVBA recently awarded scholarships to nine local high school seniors who will go on to major or minor in the arts in higher education. Major support for the scholarship donations is raised through this popular annual luncheon event.
Fox Valley Beaux Arts members consist of a wide range of women who are engaged with and/or support the arts and who reside throughout the Fox Valley area. Members of this year's Board of Directors are Susan Pepa and Cheryl Hallquist, co-Presidents; Loretta Heuer, Vice-President; Florence Ostdick, Correspondence Secretary; Katie McBride, Recording Secretary; Bonnie Henn-Prichard, Treasurer; Marge Haefliger and Chris Womac, Programs; Barb McGee, Scholarships; Rose Engle, Membership and Publicity/Communications.

Duchess Manor at The Arboretum of South Barrington

Open September 19–November 1Enter the gates of Duchess Manor, an immersive haunted house experience at The Arboretum of South Barrington. Hidden within the manor’s decaying rooms is the chilling story of the mysterious Duchess, whose isolation slowly drove her into madness.
Duchess Manor offers two ways to experience the haunting:
LIGHTS ON WALKTHROUGHS Saturdays and Sundays, 2–5 PM
Designed with younger visitors and families in mind, Lights On Walkthroughs allow guests to explore the manor with the lights on and no live scare actors. Kids can take in the detailed rooms, spooky decorations and eerie surprises at a gentler pace.
FULL SCARE Fridays and Saturdays, 7–11 PM Sundays, 6–10 PM
When darkness falls, Duchess Manor comes alive. Brave guests will encounter live scare actors, chilling scenes and unexpected frights as they journey through the Duchess’s secret estate.
Duchess Manor is open September 19 through November 1 at The Arboretum of South Barrington. Tickets are available online or in person.
