Champions of Empathy

Five “Champions of Empathy” to be recognized at The Changing Children’s Worlds Foundation’s 10th Anniversary “Stand Up for Kids” Fundraiser on April, 29 (Baker Community Center)

Changing Children’s Worlds Foundation’s (CCWF) Champions of Empathy are individuals who have gone above and beyond, to generously contribute their time, energy, networks, and personal or professional resources to support CCWF’s mission to serve families with “The Best Start for Families: Health Equity Approach” program.
At their 10th Anniversary Fundraiser, CCWF will honor 2022 Champions of Empathy award recipients:
State Attorney Jamie Mosser - we recognize the State Attorney’s personal and team’s assistance with the CCWF application for the American Rescue Plan Act grant for Kane County “Best Start” services, as well as her role in establishing CCWF’s first SAO Memorandum of Understanding and starting out CCWF’s official role as a provider of services for SA Pre-Court Diversion Program.
Mark Payleitner - Mark has been volunteering for CCWF for nearly five years in jail-based programs. During that time he has been a main or substitute facilitator for 7 Parenting Program SERIES. The number of hours Mark has volunteered and trained in our most challenging program has surpassed 250 hours.
Char Rivette - Children’s Advocacy Center’s Executive Director since 2009, a member of the National Children’s Alliance Board of Directors. She has been with CCWF for all 10 years, training specialists, serving as Board Member and Advocate.
Geri Jones - Executive Director in St. Titus One M. B. Church Youth Anti-Violence and Mentoring Program, Geri has been with CCWF since the very beginning and was one of the first Board Members and Great Supporters.
St. Charles Veteran’s Center is recognized as a Corporate Champion of Empathy, as our strong and consistent partner that became a second home for CCWF providing excellent space for our events and hosting Board meetings over 10 years.
Torin Quinlivan is the first CCWF Graduate Student Fellow! While pursuing a Ph.D. in Mathematical Sciences with a focus on statistics at Northern Illinois University, Torin has made a valuable contribution to CCWF’s programs evaluation and reporting to improve the quality of our programs.
Thanks to Champions and other supporters, CCWF has provided "The Best Start for Families" programming supporting nearly 2,000 Parents & Caregivers, and almost 5,000 children, in addition to training more than 640 Professionals and University Students working with thousands of children throughout Kane, DuPage, Dekalb, McHenry, and Cook Counties, and beyond!

Geneva Mayor Kevin Burns will emcee CCWF’s 10th-anniversary fundraiser (April 29, 5:30-8 pm). Special guests are St. Charles Mayor Lora Vitek, States Attorney Jamie Mosser, and Kane County Sheriff Ron Hain. Proceeds from the event support CCWF to bring the “Best-Start for Families” empathy-based parenting and youth learning/support programs to families at no cost. Our universal Health Equity trauma-informed approach helps to strengthen parents’ and children’s communication and relationships, focusing on social, emotional, cognitive, and regulative development skills.
