Christians Address Controversial U46 Homework Assignment

People from the Christian community showed up to Monday's U46 meeting to address the homework assignment.

ELGIN, IL – Many from the Christian community, not just in the area but also out-of-state, came out to a U46 school meeting Monday. Those attending the meeting spoke up about a recent assertion that Christian, Muslim and Jewish faiths all believe in the same God as part of a U46 homework assignment, according to the Elgin Courier-News.

School board member Jeannette Ward brought the issue to light and people from the Christian community came out on Monday to voice their disdain, according to the article.

Several people attacked the assignment, quoting Bible and Quran verses to support their argument that Christians do not follow the same God as Muslims. Some of those who spoke live outside the U46 boundaries, including one person who came from Florida.
