City Still Divided Over I-90 Police-Involved Shooting
Some believe the local police officer was justified in the fatal shooting of the DeCynthia Clements. Others believe he was not.

ELGIN, IL — The March 2018 police-involved shooting that killed DeCynthia Clements has divided the city of Elgin. Now, those who believe Lt. Christian Jensen was in the right when he fired at Clements following a standoff on I-90, as well as those who think he was in the wrong, plan to attend a city council meeting next week. They will be wearing T-shirts, either with a message in support of Jensen’s or ones claiming the 19-year veteran of the Elgin Police Department should not return to work, according to the Daily Herald.
An Elgin officer, Jason Lentz, and Bill O'Neill, Lentz’s friend, have nearly sold out if their t-shirts. Funds raised from selling the shirts will help to pay Jensen’s legal fees, if he needs it, or will go to an organization that supports police, Bill O'Neill told the newspaper.
Meanwhile, Marcus Banner, an Elgin resident, has made about 75 T-shirts with a "no" symbol over Jensen's name and has given away many of them, according to the report.
