Illinois State Police Wrap Up Fatal I-90 Police Shooting Probe
The details surrounding the officer-involved shooting of Decynthia Clements in Elgin in March are now being reviewed by prosecutors.

ELGIN, IL -- The police-involved fatal shooting of an Elgin woman is now being reviewed by the Cook County State's Attorney's Office, Elgin Police Chief Ana Lalley said Thursday. Decynthia S. Clements, 34, was fatally shot on Interstate 90 following a standoff that closed down the highway on March 12. On Thursday, Lalley said the Illinois State Police completed its preliminary investigation and prosecutors will now determine whether charges should be filed in the case.
Clements was shot by Lt. Christian Jensen, a 19-year Elgin Police Department veteran and SWAT team member, during the March 12 incident, authorities said. He is on paid administrative leave.
"There is no anticipated timeframe for the completion of the State’s Attorney’s review. We will continue to keep you informed as to the status of the case when we are made aware," Lalley said.
