Visitation Set For Tuesday For Elgin Woman Killed In Crash

The crash happened last week in Elgin.

ELGIN, IL – A 47-year-old woman killed in a crash Thursday evening in Elgin has been identified as Kelly Pynakker of Elgin, according to the Kane County Coroner's Office. Authorities responded to the one-vehicle collision at McDonald and Corron roads at about 6:39 p.m. A preliminary investigation shows the crash occurred when the vehicle, which was heading west on McDonald Road, lost control and struck a utility pole, according to information posted on the Elgin Police Department Facebook page.

Pynakker was taken to Presence St. Joseph's Hospital where she was pronounced dead from injuries sustained in the crash, police said. An autopsy performed on Friday revealed she died from multiple injuries, according to the coroner's office news release.

Meanwhile, a visitation is scheduled for 3 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Salerno's Rosedale Chapels, 450 W. Lake Street in Roselle, according to Pynakker's obituary. A private burial is planned for the local woman. In lieu of flowers, residents can make donations to the Anderson Animal Shelter, 1000 S. Lafox South in Elgin.
