Coroner IDs Man Killed in Elgin Crash as Glendale Heights Man, 32

A 32-year-old Glendale Heights man killed over the weekend in a crash on Route 20 in Elgin has been identified as Rudy Guerra, according to the Kane County Coroner’s Office.

The crash happened on Route 20 west of Route 31 on Saturday. Guerra was driving a pickup truck east on Route 20 when the vehicle went off the roadway and hit a tree, according to the Daily Herald. When authorities arrived, the vehicle was on fire.

Guerra was taken to Presence St. Joseph Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

An autopsy revealed Guerra died of multiple injuries. Toxicology testing is pending.

The crash remains under investigation
