Coroner IDs Woman, 27, Killed In Hit-And-Run In Rural Kane County
The bicyclist has been identified as Ebony Calvillo, according to the Kane County Coroner's Office.
HAMPSHIRE, IL — A 27-year-old Hampshire woman who was killed in a hit-and-run crash while riding her bicycle early Monday has been identified as Ebony Calvillo, according to the Kane County Coroner's Office.
The Kane County Coroner's Office was notified Monday of the fatal crash on U.S. Route 20 north of Big Timber Road. Calvillo was pronounced dead at the scene and later transported to the coroner's office for an autopsy, according to a news release.
The preliminary cause of death was determined to be multiple injuries consistent with a bicyclist being struck by a vehicle. Toxicology samples were collected and sent to a national forensic laboratory for further analysis, according to the Kane County Coroner's Office.

The crash occurred around 12:40 a.m. Monday. Police said the driver fled the scene after striking the bicyclist on Route 20 between Big Timber and Gast roads.
Investigators are asking anyone who traveled through the area between 12:30 and 12:50 a.m. Monday to review any dash camera footage and contact the Hampshire Police Department if they have information that could assist the investigation, according to authorities.

The Kane County Coroner's Office is assisting the Hampshire Police Department and the Fox Valley Major Crimes Task Force as the investigation continues.
