Downtown Elgin Cupcake Shop To Close On Christmas Eve
Delish Cakes in downtown Elgin is to close its doors on Christmas Eve.

ELGIN, IL — A downtown cupcake shop that's been in business for more than three years will reportedly close for good on Christmas Eve.
Delish Cakes, 213 E. Chicago St., opened in November 2016, and owner Alicia Eisenmann says she will still hold monthly pop-up sales at businesses in the downtown area, will be a food vendor at local events and plans to have a booth at the farmers market, the Daily Herald reports.
The shop had a good first year of business, but foot traffic slowed after that, said Eisenmann, who also runs a Delish Cakes in Bloomingdale. She said two antiques shops near the store closed shortly after she moved in, which led to fewer customers, according to the article. More people are also shopping online, she added.
