Driver In Crash That Killed Elgin Woman Found Dead: Authorities

WARRENVILLE, IL — A Warrenville man charged with causing a 135-mph crash that killed an Elgin woman missed his court date Thursday. And when police came to serve him court papers later that same day, they found him dead. Brian Thunderkick, 62, and his ex-wife, Laura Arns, 62, were found deceased in Thunderkick's Pierre Curie Lane home , Daily Herald reports.

Warrenville Police said there were no signs of violence or forced entry at the home, according to a news release. And the community was not believed to be in any danger, Warrenville Police Chief Raymond Turano said in a news release.

Thunderkick, who was arrested in early October in connection with the crash, was released on Oct. 18 after posting bail. His release came not long after prosecutors were denied a request to increase his bail after presenting evidence that Thunderkick was under the influence of barbiturates when he allegedly drove his Camaro down Butterfield Road at 135 mph and caused the fiery collision that killed Erika Villagomez, 23, of Elgin.

Warrenville Police say the death investigation is ongoing, according to the Daily Herald.
