Dryer Fire Damages Elgin Home
The Elgin Fire Department was called to the blaze Monday night.

ELGIN, IL – No one was injured when a dryer started on fire inside a home in Elgin Monday night, fire officials said. The Elgin Fire Department was called to the 600 block of Packard Drive at 9:54 p.m. where they found the blaze in the basement of the home. All residents were able to safely get out of the home, according to a news release from the Elgin Fire Department.
The blaze was put out in about 10 minutes.
The fire caused about $5,000 in damage to the home and its contents. There was smoke damage throughout the home and fire damage to the laundry room.
