Five Elgin Academy seniors were recently named as Illinois State Scholars including Kristina Beligratis, Madigan Boborci, Neha Karna, Ethan Martin, and Leeann Rao. Each year the Illinois Student Assistance Commission (ISAC) announces its list of exceptional students who "rank in approximately the top ten percent of high school seniors in Illinois and are chosen each year based on a combination of exemplary ACT or SAT test scores and sixth semester class rank."
Kristina is the daughter of James and Kathryn Beligratis of Inverness. Madigan is the daughter of Jim and Courtney Boborci of St. Charles. Neha is the daughter of Anoop and Sandhya Karna of Crystal Lake. Ethan is the son of Todd Martin and Babette Colburn of Elgin. Leeann is the daughter of Anand and Karen Rao of Bartlett.
Elgin Academy is a Preschool - Grade Twelve independent school located on the hill in downtown Elgin.
