Greater Elgin Sing-Along Handel's Messiah seeks charity partner for 2nd annual community performance

Greater Elgin Sing-Along Handel’s Messiah (GESAHM) is accepting applications for its Charity of Choice partnership for its 2023 performance, happening Friday, Dec. 1, 2023, at 7 p.m., at the Blizzard Theater in Elgin, Illinois.

Greater Elgin Sing-Along Handel’s Messiah is an interactive event planned by a committee of Elgin-area community members that showcases the talent of local musicians and vocalists while encouraging the community to come together to celebrate the start of the holiday season by celebrating, singing, and giving back to the community. Greater Elgin Sing-Along Handel’s Messiah debuted in 2022. In its first year, the event raised more than $3,500 for Food For Greater Elgin through advance online donations and good-will offerings at the event.

Charitable partner applications for this year’s event are now being accepted. To qualify, charities must provide food, housing, or shelter to people in need in Elgin, Illinois, and be a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Interested charities may apply online at www.elginsing-alongmessiah.org. The deadline for applications is July 15, 2023.
