Elgin Police Investigate Armed Robbery

ELGIN, IL — The Elgin Police Department is investigating an armed robbery that occurred late Thursday in the 900 block of Dundee Avenue. Authorities say the robber entered the establishment, displayed a handgun and demanded money, according to a post on the Elgin Police Department Facebook page. The man then fled on foot, heading west from the location, police said.

The Elgin Police Department was at the scene just before midnight investigating the armed robbery, authorities said.

No one was injured and as of late Thursday, authorities were continuing to search for the suspect, who is described as black man who is around 45 years old, according to police. He is approximately 6-feet tall with a medium build.

Authorities are asking anyone who may have information that will aid them in their investigation to call 847-289-2600 or text a tip to 847411 and include ElginPD in the beginning of the text.
