Elgin Police Investigate Reports Of Flat Tires
Authorities are looking into whether the tires were flattened on purpose, police said.

ELGIN, IL – Elgin police are investigating three recent reports from people who left an Elgin business and found their tire had been flattened, according to a post on the Elgin Police Department Facebook page. Two such incidents occurred in the 100 and 200 blocks of South Randall Road and one occurred in the 1000 block of Summit Street, police said.
In all of the incidents, vehicle occupants then reported being approached by one to two African-American men to see if they would like help fixing the flat for a fee, according to police. The men had similar descriptions, police said.
"We are currently investigating the incidents to see if the tires were intentionally flattened for the purpose of financial gain by way of conducting repairs," police said.
