KANE COUNTY, IL–A blizzard has messed up roadways and left many without power this morning in northern and central Illinois. With the less-than-ideal conditions, most schools have decided to close for the day. In addition, daycares, businesses and other organizations have also decided not to open.
As of 6:30 a.m., many libraries have decided to open late.

- DISTRICT 304 SCHOOLS IN GENEVA: Closed Monday
- U-46 SCHOOLS IN ELGIN: Closed Monday. All before and after-school athletics/activities have been canceled. All SAFE programs are closed.
- ST. MARY SCHOOL IN ELGIN: Closed
- COVENANT CHRISTIAN SCHOOL IN AURORA: All activities cancelled Monday
