Elgin's Summer Trash Drop-Off Is This Weekend
The event will be held from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday.

ELGIN, IL – Elgin's Summer Trash Drop-off Event will be held on Saturday, July 28, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Waste Management Transfer Station, located at 1245 Gifford Road. The event will include secure document destruction and electronic recycling. There is a limit of two TVs that can be dropped off and each additional TV dropped off will be $10 each, according to the city of Elgin Facebook page.
The cost is $20 per vehicle – cash only – to drop off items. Residents will be allowed to bring up to a 15 foot U-Haul or Penske truck filled with household waste.
No household hazardous waste will be accepted. The event is for Elgin residents only – proof of residency via state-issued ID is required.
