Young children can celebrate America's 250th birthday at the South Elgin Branch Library with Patriotic Puppet Pals, a special storytime and craft program. Designed for Pre-K and kindergarten-aged children, the event includes a patriotic story and a hands-on puppet-making activity.

Brass From The Past

Where: Old Republic Kitchen + Bar | 155 S Randall Rd, Elgin

Celebrate the holiday weekend with live music from Brass From The Past at Old Republic in Elgin. The free outdoor concert features classic rock and soul favorites, along with patriotic-themed food and drink specials as part of the venue's America 250 celebration.
Fourth Of July Parade

Where: Intersection of Douglas Ave and Slade Ave, Elgin

A longtime community tradition, Elgin's Fourth of July Parade brings together local organizations, businesses, performers and colorful floats for a patriotic procession through downtown. Thousands of spectators line the route each year to celebrate Independence Day with music, community spirit and hometown pride.
Fourth Of July Pet Parade
When: Saturday, July 4, 2026, 9 a.m.
Where: Intersection of Douglas Ave and Ann St, Elgin
Admission: Free
One of Elgin's most charming Independence Day traditions, the Fourth of July Pet Parade invites proud pet owners and their furry companions to march through downtown in a festive patriotic procession. Held just ahead of the main parade, the crowd-favorite event showcases community spirit, creative costumes and plenty of tail-wagging fun.
Fourth Of July Celebration Concert And Fireworks
When: Saturday, July 4, 2026, 5–10 p.m.
Where: Festival Park | 132 S Grove Ave, Elgin
Admission: Free
The celebration in Elgin continues at Festival Park with an evening of live music, food vendors, family-friendly activities and patriotic fun. The festivities conclude with a spectacular fireworks display over downtown Elgin beginning at approximately 9:20 p.m.
60th Birthday Celebration
When: Saturday, July 4, 2026, 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Where: Fox River Trolley Museum | 365 S La Fox St, South Elgin

Celebrate Independence Day and a major milestone at the Fox River Trolley Museum's 60th Birthday Celebration in South Elgin. Visitors can enjoy historic trolley rides, food trucks, railroad memorabilia and family-friendly activities while honoring six decades of preserving local railway history.
