Get Your Flu Shot Now: Kane County Health Department

The CDC says the best way to prevent illness and hospitalization from the flu is to get vaccinated.

KANE COUNTY, IL — The Kane County Health Department is reminding residents that it's not too late to get a flu shot. A press release from the department says flu activity is on the rise.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reports that flu-like activity is widespread across much of the United States, including Illinois.

The best way to keep the flu at bay, keeping you and your family safe, is to get vaccinated. "And they're easy to get," the press release says. Many pharmacies, family physicians and the Kane County Health Department's Aurora office are offering the shots.

The CDC recommends everybody over the age of 6 months gets vaccinated. "The vaccine prevents millions of illnesses and tens of thousands of hospitalizations every year," the press release says.

It get a flu shot in Kane County, you can go to the Kane County Health Department's Aurora office on Tuesday through Friday, between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. They charge $23.87 for the flu shot, payable by cash or check.
