Gilberts Man Wins $250,000 Lottery Prize

Steven Scott of Gilberts recently won a $250,000 jackpot prize through the Illinois Lottery.

Scott's Lucky Day Lotto Quick Pick ticket matched all five numbers ­­– 05 - 22 - 31 - 33 - 43 – in the Thursday, Dec. 22, evening drawing.

“I’m going to pay bills and put the rest of this money in the bank,” Scott said when he presented his ticket at the Illinois Lottery Prize Center in Des Plaines, according to Illinois Lottery news release.

Scott bought his winning ticket at Pop’s Pantry, 1195 N. McLean Blvd., in Elgin. The retailer received a bonus of $2,500, or one percent of the prize amount, for selling the winning ticket.
