Great teachers give more than grades, they lend a helping hand

Local teachers serve students and families on McTeacher's Night to raise money for new playground equipment.

South Elgin | Teachers from Fox Meadow Elementary School, volunteered behind the counter on September 19th, at the McDonald’s located 453 Redington Rd. Where they served students and their families in a fundraiser for the Elementary School.

Twenty percent of the proceeds from the Fox Meadows McTeacher’s Night sales were donated directly to the Fox Meadow PTO. April Wende, Fox Meadow PTO representative said the proceeds from the McTeacher’s Night will go towards new playground equipment.

David Bear, Owner - Operator of the Redington Road McDonald’s, and the Bear Family were delighted to participate in the worthy cause for education and the community.

“McTeacher’s Night is part of McDonald’s larger commitment to education and other important initiatives supporting families and the local community.” Bear said.

“We are proud to serve the families of the Fox Meadow Elementary School community through the McTeacher’s Night event. In addition to help provide financial support for our local schools, we help students feel connected to their school, their teachers and their sense of community.”

Bear donated a case of apple pies to the school for sale at the event. All pie donation proceeds went directly to Fox Meadow Elementary, the school raised over $900.00 during this fun and exciting evening.
