Coroner IDs Teen Killed Crossing Randall Road: UPDATE

Police are investigating the Thursday night collision that happened in the 200 block of Randall Road in Elgin.

ELGIN, IL — The Kane County Coroner has identified the 13-year-old Elgin girl killed while crossing Randall Road Thursday night as Alexis Horton. Horton was crossing South Randall Road at about 10:19 p.m. when a 2004 Ford pickup struck her, according to police.

Horton was transported to Presence Saint Joseph Hospital in Elgin where she died.

The Kane County Coroner's Office has identified the preliminary cause of Horton's death as "multiple injuries," according to a news release from the coroner's office. Toxicology results are pending.

The driver of the vehicle has not cited at this time and an investigation is ongoing, police said Friday afternoon.
