Learn how to pay for college at Oct. 5 event at ECC

Learn about financial aid and how to pay for college at Financial Aid 101, a free event hosted by Elgin Community College on Oct. 5.

Learn about financial aid and how to pay for college at Financial Aid 101, a free event hosted by Elgin Community College on Saturday, Oct. 5 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. The event takes place in the Seigle Auditorium, Building E, 1700 Spartan Drive, Elgin.

All are invited to attend this informative event. A presentation on how to pay for college begins at 9 a.m. and ends at 10:45 a.m. Parents and current and future students can learn about the differences between grants, loans, and scholarships, including detailed information about ECC’s Foundation and Board of Trustees scholarships and how you can search for private scholarships.

In addition to the presentation, you can complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at the event with the support of financial aid representatives (including Spanish speaking representatives). The lab will be open from 9 a.m. until 12 p.m., and it is first come, first served.

Elgin Community College (ECC) is a comprehensive public community college, one of 48 statewide. ECC serves approximately 15,000 students each year.
