Local teachers serve students and families on McTeacher’s Night
Teachers raise money at McDonald's for students enrichments
Teachers from School District, U-46, volunteered behind the counter on Monday, December 3rd, at the Summit Street, Elgin McDonald’s, where they served students and their families in a fundraiser for Lincoln Elementary School.
Teachers Velianoff, Gensler, and Bayer each tended the apple pie box during the night, with teachers Arreola and Valdes selling the pies for donations.
The proceeds from the sale of 132 pies went directly to benefit the students. Twenty percent of the proceeds from the McTeacher’s Night sales were donated directly to the school as well. Lincoln will use the funds towards 6th-grade reconstitution, 5th- grade dare, battle of the books, classroom supplies, and PBIS

“We are proud to serve the families of the Lincoln community and through the McTeacher’s Night event. In addition to helping provide financial support for our local schools, we help students feel connected to their school, their teachers and their sense of community.”
Bear donated a case of apple pies to the school for sale at the event. Inspired by the success of McTeacher’s Night, the Bear Family has set their sights on partnering with other schools in the area.
