Lowrie Elementary Has a Successful McTeacher's Night in Elgin

Teachers work at McDonald's to raise money for Lowrie Elementary School in District U-46

Lowrie Elementary School held their first ever McTeacher's Night Fundraiser at the Elgin McDonald's on Larkin Ave. The night like the Lowrie Elementary staff was Spectacular! A McTeacher's Night is organized to help raise money for local schools by having teachers work at McDonald's and then giving a percentage of the night's sales back to the local school. What an amazing night for Lowrie Elementary School.

On Wednesday, March 7th, the restaurant was taken over by Lowrie teachers and staff! The entire Lowrie staff was excited to serve freshly prepared meals to students and their families. Teachers handed out orders, cleaned tables, made ice cream treats, served drinks, prepared fries and even dressed up in a Pie costume.

English Language Learners Teacher Lauren Abascal dressed in the Pie outfit almost the whole night and what a blast she had mingling with all the families and taking pictures with the Children.

The Lowrie Orchestra played most of the night and they were amazing.

A special thank you goes to English Language Learners Teacher Graciela Aguirre, who organized the event as well as everyone who worked and attended.
