Man Accused of Sharing Videos of Child Sex Abuse, Torture
David C. Vogt of Elgin is being held on a $500,000 bail after being charged in Kane County.

KANE COUNTY, IL — An Elgin man faces charges after he was busted for sharing videos of children, some believed to be as young as 2 years old, being sexually abused and tortured, authorities said Friday. David C. Vogt, 32, of the 300 block of Hubbard Avenue, is charged with five counts of reproducing child pornography, a class X felony, and five counts of possessing child pornography, a class 2 felony.
Prosecutors say Vogt disseminated five videos by his computer of children younger than 13 engaged in abusive and sexual activities with an adult this past June, according to a news release from the Kane County State's Attorney's Office. Detective discovered the videos allegedly being downloaded from Vogt’s computer.
Each of the videos depicts a child, possibly as young as 2 years old, being subject to abuse, torture and sexual contact by an adult, according to the news release.

A Kane County judge on Friday set Vogt's bail at $500,000. If released from jail, he has been ordered to have no contact with anyone younger than 18, is prohibited from using the Internet and must surrender his passport.
If convicted on five counts of the Class X felonies, Vogt could face a sentence of as many as 150 years in prison, In addition to the prison term, Vogt must register for life as a sexual offender in accordance with the Illinois Sexual Offender Registration Act.

Vogt is next expected in court on Nov. 9.
