Man Drinks, Consumes 6 Xanax Pills Before 6th DUI Arrest: Report
The 25-year-old Elgin man was arrested for his most recent DUI on June 14.

ELGIN, IL – A 25-year-old Elgin man has been arrested for his sixth drunken driving offense, according to media reports. Byron Roe, 25, of the 12N400 block of Tina Trail, was taken into custody on June 14 after officers responded to a domestic disturbance and found Roe driving a minivan on Hawthorne Street. He allegedly failed field sobriety tests and admitted to taking six Xanax pills, the Daily Herald reports.
Prior to his most recent offense, Roe had been out on bail for prior DUI offenses and was just in court on June 8, according to the article. During that court hearing, prosecutors requested a higher bail for Roe who was recently accused of tampering with an alcohol-monitoring device he'd been ordered to wear. The device allegedly showed he had consumed alcohol. Last week, a judge raised his bail to $150,000.
As of Tuesday morning, Roe remained in custody on the $150,000 bail, according to online jail records. He is next expected in court on June 21.
