Move ahead: Register now for spring classes at ECC

Registration is now underway for spring classes at Elgin Community College. The new semester begins Jan. 13, 2020. College staff are ready and available to help new students through the application and enrollment process, regardless of the student’s age or stage in life. Students are advised to register as soon as possible to get the best selection of courses and times, so they can build a schedule that fits with their lives and goals.
ECC offers more than 130 degree and certificate options in popular areas of study such as business and professional services; digital technologies; health professions; education and human services; liberal, visual and performing arts; emergency services and public safety; technical education; and university transfer. Over 20 different student clubs and organizations give students the opportunity for social engagement, leadership development, volunteering, and more. An active campus of on-campus presentations and guest speakers help students expand their perspectives outside of the classroom.
Many adults who have no college credit, as well as those who have some credit but no degree, can move ahead at ECC to increase their earnings potential in a current field or to transition into a new career by completing a degree or certificate program. Some certificates can be earned in as little as one semester. Interested adults should contact the Admissions Office at 847-214-7385 for more information on services for adult students.

Current students may register online at elgin.edu/accessecc or in person at the Registration Office located in Building B, Room B105, on the Spartan Drive Campus, 1700 Spartan Drive, Elgin. The Registration Office is open from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays and from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Fridays. Please note that the college closes 5 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 23, for winter break. The college will reopen on Thursday, Jan. 2, 2020.
Tuition is due on Monday, Jan. 6, by 7 p.m. Payment plans are available, and students should contact Student Accounts at 847-214-7380 for more information. Financial aid resources and ECC Foundation scholarships may be available to those who qualify, and students can learn more by calling the Financial Aid and Scholarships Office at 847-214-7360.

Elgin Community College (ECC) is a comprehensive public community college, one of 48 statewide. ECC serves approximately 15,000 students each year. Programs of study include 25 major fields for university transfer, more than 130 career-oriented, occupational degrees and certificates, corporate and continuing education, and a full complement of pre-collegiate courses. The three-year graduation rate exceeds the national average and the average of peer colleges. ECC awards more than 2,200 degrees and certificates each year.
