Police Investigate Elgin Shooting, Ask For Public's Help: Police

One person was shot Thursday night in Elgin, police said.

ELGIN, IL — The Elgin Police Department is asking for the public's help in identifying suspects involved in a shooting Thursday night in the 400 block of Hendee Street, authorities said. The person who was shot suffered an injury that is not considered life-threatening and is being treated at an area hospital.

The shooting occurred at 7:41 p.m. Thursday after the person who was shot got into an altercation with people that knew him, according to a post on the Elgin Poilce Department Facebook page.

Anyone with information or video that can assist police should call 847-289-2700 or send an anonymous text to 847411 and include ELGINPD in the beginning of the text.
