Rep. Moeller Leading Important Environmental Town Hall

ELGIN -- You've probably heard about the high-stakes energy legislation debate in Springfield. How will this protect our environment without hurting us in the pocketbooks?
State Rep. Anna Moeller, D-Elgin, will help find answers at her upcoming Aug. 19 Environmental Town Hall virtual meeting. Learn more about what to expect from her latest update:
Our environmental future is on the line in many ways in Illinois through the decisions made soon in Springfield. State Rep. Anna Moeller wants to make sure her constituents know what is at stake.

Rep. Moeller, D-Elgin, will be leading a free virtual Environmental Town Hall discussion on Thursday, Aug. 19, from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., through a live stream available on her Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/staterepresentativeannamoeller. Those who cannot attend but want to watch the discussion afterward will be able to catch it at this Facebook page.
The agenda will feature a welcome from Rep. Moeller, an overview and introduction of the issues being discussed by the Illinois Environmental Council, and then more substantive discussions about clean energy and climate, open space, and lead and clean drinking water by advocacy groups the Sierra Club of Illinois, Conservation Foundation, and Metropolitan Planning Council.

The Environmental Council will then moderate a question-and-answer session from the online participants.
Rep. Moeller said with a clean energy bill, lead cleanup legislation and other critical issues being voted on recently and still pending consideration at the Illinois Capitol, this online forum is a great opportunity for constituents to make sure they understand these complex issues.
“Our world is changing rapidly, and our public policy has to change quickly to meet it or we face devastating consequences for how we produce and use energy, preserve open lands, upgrade our water infrastructure and so much more,” Moeller said. “I’m a strong environmental advocate in Springfield and want to make sure my constituents know what is being discussed and why it is so important we take these critical stances to protect our environment. Our future depends on it.”
