Roadside Safety Check Planned For Kane Co.
The roadside safety check will be held at an exit rank along 1-88 this week.
KANE COUNTY, IL — The Illinois State Police District 15 will conduct a Roadside Safety Check in Kane County during the late evening hours of June 27 until the early morning hours of June 28, according to a news release. Interim Commander Dominic Chiappini said the RSC will be held on the Reagan Memorial Tollway (I-88) on the exit ramp to Illinois Route 31 at milepost 117.
Officers working this detail will be watchful for drivers who are operating vehicles in an unsafe manner, driving with a suspended or revoked driver’s license, transporting open alcoholic beverages or driving under the influence (DUI), according to the news release.
Alcohol and drug impairment is a significant factor in nearly 40 percent of all fatal motor vehicle crashes in Illinois. RSCs are designed to keep our roads safe by taking dangerous DUI offenders off the road, authorities said.
