South Elgin Police Ask For Help to Find Missing Teen

Tiffany Keokanlaya, 19, of South Elgin was last seen in Chicago on Friday.

SOUTH ELGIN, IL — South Elgin police are searching for a missing teen and asking for the public's help in tracking her down. Tiffany Keokanlaya, 19, of the 200 block of West Harvard Circle, left her family's home on Friday without letting anyone know, which was "unusual" for her to do, South Elgin Police Department deputy chief Mike Doty told the Daily Herald. She does not have any known health-related issues and used the family credit card to buy a Metra ticket in Elgin before heading into the city.

Authorities said she was last seen on video at Canal Street and Jackson Boulevard in Chicago at about 1:30 p.m. Friday and was carrying a black suitcase and a black backpack, Doty told the Daily Herald. Keokanlaya, who is described as an Asian woman who is 5 feet 3 inches tall and 151 pounds, was with another Asian woman who appeared to be her same age.

Anyone with information about Keokanlaya's whereabouts is asked to call the South Elgin Police Department at (847) 741-2151
