Stranded Motorist Struck by Car on I-90: Police
A passenger was outside a stalled vehicle on Interstate 90 in Elgin when another car collided with the vehicle.

ELGIN, IL – A person was seriously injured after being hit by a vehicle on Interstate 90 in Elgin on Saturday morning. The collision occurred at about 8:21 a.m. when a 2002 Toyota struck a 2018 Subaru, which was stalled in the westbound lanes of traffic on I-90 between Route 31 and Randall Road, and also hit a passenger of the Subaru, who was standing outside the the stalled vehicle, authorities said. The person who was struck was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
A condition update was not immediately available Sunday.
Both the driver of the Subaru, Terry S. Wenslow of Des Plaines, and the driver of the Toyota, Ricardo Hernandez-Rubio, of Hampshire, were taken to area hospitals with injuries that are not considered life-threatening, according to a news release from the Illinois State Police.

The collision closed down three of the four lanes, snarling westbound I-90 traffic for hours.
No charges had been filed as of Saturday, according to Illinois State Police.
