Students invited to study abroad next summer in Italy through ECC
Elgin Community College, in partnership with Centro Studi Italiani, is proud to offer a new summer study abroad program in Urbania, Italy.

Elgin Community College, in partnership with Centro Studi Italiani, is proud to offer a new summer study abroad program in Urbania, Italy. The program provides students an immersive experience to learn the Italian language and culture. The four-week program runs from May 17 to June 14, 2020, and includes a capstone weekend in Rome.
Urbania, Italy is a small town located about a four-hour drive from Rome and 2.5 hours from Bologna. Nestled between the Apennine Mountains and the Adriatic Sea, Urbania is historically known as an ancient center of art and culture. Students will have the chance to fully immerse themselves in a safe and unspoiled environment and focus on their studies. In this typical Italian town, students can live a genuine Italian lifestyle and sample the warmth of Italian hospitality in an authentic and unforgettable environment.
The program is open to students who have a strong interest in the culture, traditions, and language of Italy. Prior to the start of the program, participants must be at least 18 years of age, obtain a passport, and attend a pre-trip orientation.

The cost to participate in this program for summer 2020 is $3,750, which covers tuition and related fees, homestay accommodations with breakfast and dinner, transportation to program cultural excursions, orientation and faculty liaison costs, and mandatory health insurance. International airfare to Rome and other costs are not included.
The application deadline is February 28, 2020. For students interested in studying abroad in Italy for a more extended period of time, ECC also offers semester programs in Florence, Rome, Tuscany, and Venice. The application deadline is May 15 for the fall term, and October 15 for the spring term. However, programs are filled on a first-come, first-served basis, so prospective applicants are encouraged to apply early.
