1. Food Truck Frenzy
When: Saturday, July 18, 2026, 11 a.m.–8 p.m.

Just a short drive from Elgin, Huntley Park District's third annual Food Truck Frenzy will feature more than 30 food trucks serving everything from barbecue and pizza to lobster rolls and desserts. The free event also includes live music, local vendors, a kids' zone and beverages available for purchase.

2. BoricuaFest
When: Saturday, August 1, 2026, 12–6 p.m.
Where: Festival Park | 132 S Grove Ave, Elgin
After 14 years, BoricuaFest returns to Elgin with a family-friendly celebration of Puerto Rican culture, featuring live music, dance, authentic food, art and community organizations. Visitors can enjoy cultural performances and local vendors while celebrating the city's vibrant Puerto Rican community.

3. Summer Concerts in the Park
When: Thursdays through August 20, 2026: 7–8:30 p.m.
Where: Wing Park Bandshell | 1010 Wing St., and The Pavilion at Lords Park | 100 Oakwood Blvd., Elgin
Bring a blanket or lawn chair and enjoy free outdoor concerts throughout the summer at two of Elgin's signature parks. The weekly series features a variety of musical styles, with food trucks available before and during each performance.

4. Movies in the Park
When: Select Fridays through August 21, 2026; movies begin at dusk
Where: Various parks throughout Elgin; see website
Pack a blanket and the whole family for free outdoor movie nights in Elgin parks this summer. From Monsters, Inc. and Paddington to Jurassic World and Encanto, this year's lineup offers something for moviegoers of all ages, with locations changing throughout the season.

5. Love On The Lawn Day
When: Saturday, September 5, 2026
Where: Festival Park | 132 S Grove Ave, Elgin
Love on the Lawn Day returns for its fifth year with a full day of live music, food vendors and family-friendly entertainment celebrating community in downtown Elgin. This year's festival features a headlining performance by Grammy-winning R&B artist Mýa alongside additional live performances throughout the day.

6. Downtown Elgin Market
When: Fridays through September 25, 2026, 3–7 p.m. (extended hours to 8 p.m. on First Fridays)
Where: S Riverside Drive, Downtown Elgin
Shop fresh produce, handmade goods, specialty foods and other local finds while supporting area farmers, artisans and small businesses. Each market also features live music, rotating vendors and special activities throughout the season.
