Traveling Tolerance Bus Visits Elgin This Week

ELGIN -- Hatred and intolerance are still too common today, but one innovative traveling bus is doing its part to change that.

The Mobile Museum of Tolerance is visiting Elgin later this week to help the public better understand the threats in our community and how to push back on them. Find some time to bring your family out to the library and learn more about the MMOT's work:

The Mobile Museum of Tolerance is an arm of the Simon Wiesenthal Center: https://mmot.com/. The MMOT is the first traveling education center of its kind in the United States and visits school districts and public places across Illinois to offer free education and awareness about the very real threat of hate and intolerance in our communities.

The MMOT has proven very popular since its creation, and is now booked to appear in school districts and libraries throughout Illinois well into 2025. The bus offers workshops and a hands-on educational platform to reach thousands of students and encourage them to speak against bullying, hate, racism, anti-Semitism, and much more.

The bus will visit your area:

• Thursday, June 29, and Friday, June 30
• 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day
• Gail Borden Public Library
• 270 N. Grove Ave, Elgin
