U-46 Expands Chromebook Program to Grades 5 to 8
The U-46 school board recently approved the expansion of the district's one-to-one technology initiative.

The U-46 Board of Education approved an expansion of the district’s one-to-one technology initiative to include all students in grades 5 to 8. Starting in the 2019-20 school year, all fifth through 12th graders will be provided a Chromebook from U-46 to be used throughout the school day, as well as at home during the evenings and weekends to support their learning. Moving to one-to-one technology for 5th through 12th grades is meant to allow students greater access to curriculum resources, interventions, and progress monitoring tools, according to a U-46 news release.
A $25 insurance fee will be added to registration for each student that receives a Chromebook in the event repairs need to be made. More information about the District’s one-to-one initiative can be found online at https://www.u-46.org/Page/12800.
