YWCA Elgin Invites Community to Submit Nominations for 2026 Leader Luncheon Awards

Elgin, IL — YWCA Elgin is now accepting nominations for the 2026 Leader Luncheon Awards, an annual event that recognizes women who make a meaningful impact in our community through leadership, service, and dedication to others.

The 42nd Annual Leader Luncheon, presented by Title Sponsor The Schrieber Group, will take place on Thursday, May 14, 2026, at The Seville in Streamwood, Illinois. Doors will open at 11:00 a.m., with the program beginning promptly at 11:45 a.m. The event is part of YWCA Elgin’s 125th anniversary year, marking more than a century of service to the community.

This year’s Honorary Chair for the YWCA Leader Luncheon is Carol Gieske, CEO of the Elgin Area Chamber of Commerce, a highly engaged and respected community leader.

Known for building strong partnerships across the public, private, and nonprofit sectors, Gieske collaborates closely with business leaders, elected officials, and community organizations to drive shared economic and community outcomes. Previously, she led the Saint Joseph Hospital Foundation, where she oversaw a highly successful capital campaign that raised more than $11 million for major healthcare expansions, and was CEO of the United Way of Elgin, helping raise more than $44 million during her tenure to support local social service organizations.

Community members are encouraged to nominate deserving individuals whose work reflects leadership, integrity, and a lasting commitment to others. In honor of the organization’s 125th anniversary, the nomination process has been simplified to make it easier and more respectful of nominators’ time.

“We know our community is full of people doing incredible work, often without recognition,” said Alana Freedman, a YWCA Elgin representative. “The Leader Luncheon is our opportunity to pause, celebrate those individuals, and share their stories.”

Nominations may be submitted online, by email, or in person. The deadline to submit a nomination is March 5, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. Full nomination details and forms are available at www.ywcaelgin.org/leaderluncheon.
