5 Elmhurst Domestic Violence Incidents: Police
In one case, a man gets violent after another man asks him to get off couch so he could clean, police said.

ELMHURST, IL — Two Elmhurst men were arested on charges of domestic battery in recent days. In one case, a suspect got violent after another man asked him to get up from the couch so he could clean, police said. Three other domestic violence incidents were reported, but no domestic violence charges resulted. Here is the information from the police reports:
- Jose Delgado, 37, of Elmhurst, was arrested about 6:30 p.m. Sunday in the 700 block of Junior Terrace on a charge of domestic battery. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail. According to a police report, a man said he asked Delgado to move from the couch so he could clean. Delgado swore at the man, grabbed him and threw him to the floor. Delgado then pushed him against the wall and punched him. The officer said the victim's neck was red and that he had a cut to his lower lip. Delgado said the other man grabbed at his shirt, so he defended himself.

- Police responded to a domestic battery about 4:30 p.m. Saturday in the 800 block of Colfax Avenue. A woman said a juvenile battered her and threatened to kill her because she would not let him use his iPad. She said the juvenile punched her in the face and pushed her down five stairs. Peace was restored, and the juvenile went to another relative's house to spend the night.
- Police responded to a report of a domestic battery shortly before noon Saturday in the 500 block of South Cambridge. A female said another person threw a laptop charger at her, striking her in the arm. The suspect denied throwing anything at the female. No arrests were made because of conflicting statements and no signs of injury, police said. The suspect was advised not to have any further contact with the victim.
- Police responded to a domestic battery incident about 9 p.m. Saturday in the 100 block of West Third. According to a police report, officers responding to the disturbance were told Michael Penca, 42, of Elmhurst, had left. Officers later charged him with DUI. He was not accused of domestic violence.
