ELMHURST, IL – Elmhurst University has received a $7.4 million grant from the state to help pay for the construction of a new health sciences building, the college announced Thursday.

The grant was from a state program that helps nonprofit colleges with construction projects.

In October, the university broke ground on the three-story, 45,000-square-foot health sciences building. It is expected to cost $30 million.

It is also expected to house the Jans Center for Veterans, a resource center for student veterans and students actively serving in the military.
